Watching TV – Part 9999…

Someone said that you would be resigned to watching the fruits of your labors on your computer screen. Well, this is just plain wrong and as I pointed out in my previous post, it is quite simple to setup.

I did neglect to document an additional method of viewing content on your TV, HD or not.  Using a media extender.  You do need to have a PC or Apple computer running windows/linux/OSX, an Xbox306, Nintendo Wii or PS3 and a wired or wireless router to accomplish this.  I have an Xbox360 and Wii, so I can write about those from experience.  Xbox is preferred for the superior resolution(skipping the Wii).  Here is a quick and easy walk through from Microsoft.

Following the configuration walk through you should be enjoying your downloaded content on your screen in about 10 minutes or less.

You can also use a piece of software called playon.  http://www.playon.tv/playon.  It’s a nifty media server that can stream content from your PC to your TV as well.

I think that is about the last of my posts on watching TV from outside the US.  Unless, oh course I happen upon a new, working HULU hack.
